STORY SO FAR

Medium Kool Films was founded by Greg Hall and George Russo, born out of their mutual love for unique storytelling and artistic independent cinema.

Created to  foster their own projects and writing, Medium Kool Films sold their first feature script VILLAIN to Ascendant Films in 2019. An intelligent crime genre piece set for release in 2020 distributed by Vertigo.

MKF’s first production short film SMACK EDD screened at festivals throughout 2019. Notably it received ‘Best Short’ from the British Urban Film Festival and screened in Los Angeles & New York as part of the Reel Recovery Film Festival.

Medium Kool Films second production (with House 38) short film BABY BOY world premiered at the Tier A Bafta / Oscar qualifying Iris Prize LGBT Film Festival 2021, it screened on Channel 4 and was released online via Directors Notes.

WHO WE ARE

Greg has directed six independent feature films and one feature documentary, his debut The Plague recieved the Katrin Cartlidge Scholarship from Mike Leigh and screened at the BFI London Film Festival. He has over 15 years experience of working in the industry and teaches directing, screen writing and filmmaking. His work has been championed by producer Sandy Lieberson, director Barney Platts-Mills and producer Gary Kurtz among others.  

George started out as a child actor from the acclaimed Anna Scher Theatre School, he has gone on to share the screen with Michael Fassbender, Harvey Keitel, Brenda Blethyn, Plan B, Phil Collins, Matt Smith, Johnny Harris, Bob Hoskins and many others. He has over twenty years experience of working in the industry and is also an accomplished writer with his debut and semi-autobiographical feature film Turnout.
